SYNTHESIS Q.A.D. Rev. 02

“SYNTHESIS Q.A.D.” rev. 02 is a full programmable modular system for anterior segment. This unit allows the surgeon to perform the phacoemulsification, infusion/aspiration, vitrectomy for anterior or posterior (depending of the vitrectomy model). The unit automaticaly detect the probe insert or Diathermy (eso or endo) or the capsulotomy handpieces; all the functions are individually selectable by panel switch icons or cyclical selectable by footswitch (Black switch toggle ). Every function is showed on the panel LCD display and audible by a sound message.

The Q.A.D. is a based system in a double intervention, electronic and hydraulic. The electronic uses a microprocessor which with a proper dedicated software detects the pressure trends through the sensor in the aspiration line. A rapid transient in the vacuum line actives the software which gives proper signals in order to minimize the collapse of the anterior chamber.

All parameters are fully programmable and storable in memory for 5 Surgeon.

According to the vacuum level the microprocessor gives the correct venting time.

“SYNTHESIS Q.A.D.” Phaco emulsification & Fragmentation 40 kHz (about) Phaco emulsification Standard (85gr) and Phaco fragmentation Light (35gr) both model are in titanium.

The U/S handpieces are: Standard and Light (85gr and 45gr). A continuous auto-tuning 42 KHz and 100 micro stroke lengths maintains stability and ensures a constant needle elongation during the surgeon act.

“SYNTHESIS Q.A.D.” Infusion/Aspiration process removes the lens through the I/A instrument evacuation port. Aspiration is obtained through the flow rate control , thank to the rotary movement of the peristaltic roller bar pump on the silicone tube creates the vacuum and also provides predictable and stable aspiration. The vacuum in the aspiration line is from 4 to a max. 500mm Hg . The maximum flow rate , produced by the peristaltic pump is 60 cc/min.

“SYNTHESIS Q.A.D.” The Synthesis Q.A.D. in vitrectomy mode allows the operator to perform anterior and posterior segment using the power handpiece with Guillotine tip. The power pressure is obtained by a compressor located on the unit. The cutting rate is from 50 beats per minute to a maximum of 1000 per minute.

It’s possible use different models for anterior and posterior segment(20psi).

“SYNTHESIS Q.A.D.” offers RF diathermy for a wide range of bipolar forceps, pencils, eraser or different endo-probe shape.

The SYNTHESIS QAD Rev.02 can store the function’s parameters and the preferred manage mode for all the unit’s function up to 5 different surgeons; so 5 different surgeon can fully configure the unit for their use at the same time. When the surgeon recall his stored parameter he can modify them and use the unit with this new parameter. The unit will remember this new set while it’s switch on; if the surgeon store this new set of parameter, using the right button on the front panel, the unit will remember this set even if it’s turn off.
